A man had to be rescued from the American River, near Rossmore Bar, after he got hurt on a makeshift rope swing.

The 29-year-old man was pulled to shore by Sacramento Metro Fire’s Water Unit, Chief Scott Cockrum said.

Cockrum said the victim suffered a broken femur and possibly a dislocated knee.
