Just off of U.S. HWY 50 at Howe Ave, Paradise Beach is a popular destination for swimming families and young adults.

How to Get There:

From U.S. 50, take the Howe Ave. off-ramp, heading north. Make a left on Fair Oaks Blvd., then a right on Carlson Drive. You will find Paradise Beach at the intersection of Carlson and Sandburg Drives, over the levee from Glen Hall Park.

Paradise Beach is almost like a freshwater ocean beach, with sand dunes and a gently sloping beach to lie on. The oxbow bend in the river creates a cove where cautious swimmers can play. The park is a popular destination for swimming families and young adults. Both secluded and popular, Paradise Beach is an excellent lazy-day summer destination.

• The most popular activity at Paradise Beach is swimming, although that activity takes place at the swimmer’s own risk.
• Nearby Glenn Hall Park, a City of Sacramento park, offers supervised swimming at the public pool.
• In the off-season, fishing is popular at Paradise Beach.
